+New Hampshire

This past weekend I drove out to Boston where I met up with my brother. Later Kevin showed up and from there Jason, Allison, Kevin and I were off to New Hampshire.

The place was very nice. It was right on Lake Winnipesaukee and we were provided with a row boat, canoe, and a paddle boat. We got there around 9pm friday night. Kevin and I took the paddle boat out in the pitch black which was an experience. It's weird being out on a lake without any lights, everything dark, and just being in a little paddle boat. I slept on the couch that night. The next day I took the paddle boat out on the lake by myself and ended up going to the other side and back which was quite fun. Later on I went fishing with Jasons friend Adam. We found this nice cove where we caught two very small fish and by very small I mean EXTREMELY SMALL :) Then not far from there I caught a nice small mouth bass. That by itself was cool but also while reeling it in Adam pointed out this other fish that was swimming beside it. The fish I had on was a pretty good sized one but the one right next to it dwarfed it. It was huge. That was the first, last, and only decent sized fish I caught. Then we went to the store to get some food to last us the rest of the weekend. I grabbed a bunch of corn, a nice big piece of meat, and a green pepper (which I never used). That piece of meat helped a lot. Up until that point I hadn't eaten much. Jason bought some potatos for a bunch of people. I snagged one of them, had some corn, some meat, and bits and pieces of whatever anyone else had. We cooked up some smores that night and also had a little Rock Paper Scissors tournament. It was pretty fun. Kevin has been waiting for this night for a while because apparently last time Andrew beat Kevin and was crowned champion and never let Kevin live it down. The structure of the tournament was as such. Both would play the best 4 out of 7 hands to win a match. Now to win overall you'd need to win 2 out of 3 matches. Kevin and Andrews long awaited showdown went to the last hand of the last match. Kevin ended up the victor. After I went up against Cameron and beat him good. Then I lost pretty badly to Kevin. The strange thing is now Cameron went up against Kevin and actually stole the championship from him. Now the championship went all over the place but eventually by the time everyone was tired of it Kevin ended up holding it. Besides the RPS we also went for a little swim which by my standards it was a tad chilly. I jumped in a few times. Did two gainers. The first one was pretty good I just was a little tweaked but got all the way around easily. The second one I didn't quite make it all the way around anyway I go in the water and end up scraping my foot on a rock at the bottom. It's the only rock on the bottom as well. It felt like I barely touched it but I scraped it pretty good. That night I slept in the tent we brought with Jason, Andrew, and Cameron. I was surprised the tent could sleep 4 guys without much of a problem. It was slightly crammed but still not bad. The next day not a whole lot happened besides people packing up, sitting around talking, and just basically slow moving. Then we left and on the ride home Kevin and I played a few games of Mastermind. Basically one person guesses a 4 letter string where each letter can be any letter from A - F and the other person guesses it in as few guesses as possible. After he makes a guess I will respond with my own string comprised of W's and B's. A W means you got the correct letter but in the wrong spot and a B means you got a correct letter in the right spot. So we played 5 rounds and added up our number of guesses. Going into the final round I was down quite a bit. Kevin got a little lucky and made some good guesses. The first 3 matches I got 8 guesses on each and Kevin got 8, 6, 4 so he was 6 guesses up on me. Then in the 4th round I gained two more guesses on him when I guessed his code in 5 guesses and he took 7. Then in the final round I guessed it in 4 I believe. He needed to guess it in 7 or less to win. 7 guesses came and gone, then he failed to tie with 8 guesses and at that point he gave up because he had already lost. It was a close game and I got a lucky victory. Next we dropped Kevin off in his sketchy neighborhood then Jason, Allison and I went to Annas restaraunt where they server great SUPER BURRITOS and also where Jason and Allison both were stung by bees. After that back to Jasons place where I helped him with his puzzle for a few minutes then I left. Fun times. That is alll.

+Long Island
Sep 15, 2006 at 04:05:00
Well I've been in Long Island since the day after my last post. It's been pretty fun here. The area is nice and there are rediculous bike trails just a 5 minute walk down the road. These trails have been in magazines and all sections are about an 18 to 20 pack. I have yet to figure out the name of the trails. I have yet to see people ride them. I've went a few times to check them out and saw a few people none of whom rode them. Then one day I went and saw where a bunch of people had hit some jumps and fixed up a bunch and also added on to the sections. I must have just missed them. Besides that I've been living this Ski Stunt Map Editor program. My brother motivated me probably about a week or two before I left for Long Island and I've been working on it like crazy. There are still a bunch of little bugs but if you know how to navigate them they can all be avoided so they're not that bad. There were a few bugs that got in the way of making maps. At this point you can load a saved map and modify it then save it again. All is well with that. When you get a map to where you want to try it in ski stunt you hit the export map file button and it makes the appropriate files. I'm really liking how it's coming out but I have alot more to do on it. I did make it so you could drag a box around in the map which represented the starting location however the underlying code was written in such a way that would make it hard to add other things like boxes and what not later on so I have since changed the underlying code to accomodate later additions however the starting location isn't quite back up to speed. It should be soon. I also need to make a change to it's file format to accomodate entites. Right now it just has info needed to load the heightmap. Once entites are in there. That will be a huge step in the right direction. That's it for this post. I may post again later with more info I forgot since I'm trying to catch up on basically 3 weeks of stuff. I'm out for now.
